“The investigation determined that the parents of the man were sleeping when the suspect began to stab them,” he said. “The two woke up and were able to defend themselves while the suspect continued to try and attack them.”

Main said the son had fled and the parents suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

“ICSO was able to continue the investigation and determined the man was on US-127 traveling southbound near St. Johns,” he said. “Requests were made for ý and Clinton Counties to attempt to locate the suspect vehicle.”

Within an hour Clinton County deputies were able to make a traffic stop on the highway for the man and take him into custody without incident.

The man was transported back to Isabella County and jailed.

Deputies were assisted by Isabella County Central Dispatch, Fremont Township First Response, Mobile Medical Response, and Central Michigan University Police.
